Richard F. Gulnick Sr. 85 of Van Dyke Avenue, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY.

Born in Albany, NY June 10, 1936, he was the son of the late Richard T. and Mary Allen Gulnick.

Dick received his education at St. Joseph’s Elementary School; St. Mary’s Institute and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School in Amsterdam.

Dick was first employed at General Electric as a Tool Maker and subsequently went to work for 35 years at Niagara Mohawk, which subsequently became National Grid, from which he retired as a sales manager.

Dick was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Amsterdam.

He served with the New York Air National Guard in Scotia, NY.

Dick was a founding member of the Amsterdam Little Giants football league, a member of the Bigelow Weavers Club, Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course and the Montgomery County Republican Club.

Dick was united in marriage to Noreen Panunzio October 4, 1958 who survives him at home, one son, Richard F. Gulnick Jr. of Amsterdam, NY; one daughter, Kristina E. Gulnick of Scottsville, NY; four grandchildren, Janelle Bitter, Les, Bridgette and Garhett Varin, two great grandchildren, Penelope and Harlo. Nieces and nephews also survive.

He was also predeceased by a brother, John Gulnick.

There are no calling hours.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Thursday August 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY; with Rev O. Robert DeMartinis officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
