Richard E Hudson

Richard E. “Dick” Hudson, 77, of Hagaman passed away on November 21, 2023.

He was born in Amsterdam on August 14, 1946 to the late Addison Hudson and Phebe Jane

Orrey Zanella. He was the loving stepson of Carl Zanella.

Dick was a 1964 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School.

He was an honorably discharged veteran of The United States Army, rising to the rank of

Sergeant, having served from 1968-1970. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran.

Dick worked as parts manager at the family business, Dunn Truck Sales Inc. of Amsterdam,

retiring in 2009.

He was an avid bowler, having bowled a perfect 300 game and an avid golfer with a hole in one.

He also enjoyed baseball and played in the Amsterdam Fast Pitch Softball League well into his

sixties. He also loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Dick was a member of the John J. Wyszomirski American Legion Post 701, Grand Lodge Free

and Accepted Masons of the State of New York and Scottish Rite of the Valley of Schenectady.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Karen L. Dunn Hudson. Dick and

Karen celebrated their 55 th wedding anniversary on November 2 nd . He is also survived by his

children, Hollilee Nichani (Sunil), Tracey Hudson, Terry Hudson (Brandi), Trudy Seeber (Ken) and

Ashley Cofrancisco (Brandon), grandchildren Nicholas Agresta, Maddox and Priya Nichani,

Hudson Becker, Cole, Harper and Grant Hudson and Monroe and Kenny Seeber. He is also

survived by his loving brother, Larry Zanella (Kathy) as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 29 at the Riley Mortuary from 11:00 – 1:00. Interment

will immediately follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 2:30.
