Ralph Fabozzi age 102, of Colonie, NY, born and raised in Amsterdam, NY; passed away August 6, 2024 at The Community Hospice at St Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY with his devoted daughter Jenny by his side.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 21, 1921 he was the eldest son of the late James and Jennie Tessitore Fabozzi. He was predeceased by his only brother Joseph Fabozzi on October 23, 2014.
He was a graduate of the former Wilbur H Lynch High School Class of 1940.
A proud veteran of World War II from 1942-1946; he honorably served his country. He held the rank of Corporal and was honorably discharged from the United States Army Air Corp as an aircraft mechanic.
Ralph was employed by Mohasco Industries for 27 years as a wilton weaver until its closing. He later retired from the New York State Thruway Authority in 1986.
Ralph was a former communicant and parishioner of St. Michael’s the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and currently Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Amsterdam.
He was a current member of Council 209 Knights of Columbus of Amsterdam. He was a member of the Mohasco Quarter Century Club.
Ralph was united in marriage with his loving wife of 68 years Josephine Ray on August 19, 1951 until her passing on January 20, 2020. He is survived by one daughter Jenny L. Fabozzi of Clifton Park, NY; his brother in law John (Gloria) Ray Jr, of Broadalbin NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ralph believed his secret to good health and amazing longevity was to embrace a happy go lucky attitude with life, have fun, laugh, and share it with everyone he met along his Journey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Monday August 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, with Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis as Celebrant. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass at the Church. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Michael’ s Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ralph’s name may be made to St Jude Research Foundation, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-995.
