Peter J. Meca Sr.

Peter J. Meca Sr. 80, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

Born in Amsterdam on June 21, 1944, Pete was the son of Peter and Lu Lu Semeton Meca.

Pete graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School in Amsterdam and went on to work for General Electric Company-Corporate Research & Development as a bucket polisher until retiring in 2000.

He was a longtime member of the Amsterdam Pigeon Club and Schenectady Pigeon Club.

Peter was predeceased by his sisters: Ruth Auspelmyer, Irene Laska, Marlene Loucks and Caroline Langlier.

Surviving Pete are his wife Norma Phillips Meca whom he married on September 2, 1995, his children: Peter J.Meca Jr of Hanover, MD, Timothy Meca (Lori) of Mayfield, NY, Sean Meca (Kimberly) of Amsterdam, NY, Jon Meca (Michelle) of Amsterdam, and Kelly Meca (Martin Hall) of Amsterdam; his stepchildren: Carl Boerner of Prince George, VA and Jennifer Evans of Roanoke, VA, 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Peter”s Family on Friday, May 30, 2025 between 5 pm and 7 pm at Riley Mortuary, 110 Division St., Amsterdam, NY
