Jeffrey Joyce
Peter Jeffrey Joyce, 66, passed away April 17, 2021, at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on July 13, 1954, he was the youngest son of the late William and Helen Palmer Joyce.
Jeffrey received his education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Jeffrey enjoyed bands and concerts, attending many over the years. He was a nature buff and got great enjoyment out of taking pictures, traveling, seeing new places, visiting with old friends and making new ones. He also greatly enjoyed trying new and exotic foods. His life motto was “keep a smile on your face and live life to the fullest.”
Jeff is survived by his fiancé/life companion Beverly Spickerman formerly of Chatham, NY, son Sean (Shayne) Joyce of New York City, brothers Sean (Kelly) Joyce and Walter Joyce of Tribes Hill, NY and one sister, Rhoda (Tom) Marcellino of Amsterdam, NY. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and his sister-in-law, Kathleen Raco Joyce also survive.
Jeffrey was predeceased by two brothers, Mike and Billy and a sister, Katherine (Kitsy) Joyce.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service which will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY, on May 22, 2021 at 11 am. Anyone who cares to may join the family at Lorenzo’s Southside after the services.
Jeff supported many animal shelters and encouraged everyone to adopt rescues. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in his memory to any “no kill” animal rescue or to the American Cancer Society through Geoff Johnson who rides annually for the Pan-Mass Challenge every year Donations can be made through donate.pmc.org (enter riders name).
