Patricia A. "Patti" McCaffrey

Patricia “Patti” A. McCaffrey, 69, A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on December 2nd, 2025. Patti filled every room she entered with warmth, wise humor, and unmistakable love, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who were lucky enough to know her.

She was born on January 6th, 1956, in Amsterdam NY. A proud graduate of Perth Central School, Patti went on to build a life defined by dedication and heart. In July 1979, she married her husband, Robert, and together they shared 46 years of devoted, loving chapters- built on partnership, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. They devoted their lives to their son, Robert (Amanda), all of whom survive her.

A former employee of Verizon and the owner and operator of Church St. Deli in Amsterdam, Patti approached every endeavor with hard work and genuine care. She built her world around her family, cherishing every opportunity to be surrounded by the people who mattered most.

For her son, nieces Alyssa (Ben) and Sarah (David), and nephews Ryan (Amanda), Joe (Jessica) and Matt (Jenn), Patti will always be remembered as the joyful voice woven into the soundtrack of their childhood- the familiar call of “Aunt Patti!” echoing from across the yard, down the road, or from the far end of the dinner table, always full of enthusiasm, love, and the occasional tattle tale.

Patti cared deeply for her parents Tony and Shirley Sorbero and her special aunts and uncles, whom she now rejoins and is predeceased by.

She also shared a lifelong bond with her sister, Susan (Doug), whose love and connection remained a constant source of strength and companionship. She is also survived by her older brother, Michael (Jean).

Her compassion, loyalty, and generous spirit were felt not only by her family but by everyone whose lives she touched- especially her cherished grandchildren, Riley and Kameron, along with her great-niece Elizabeth, and step-granddaughter Karana who filled her later years with immeasurable joy and pride.

We know she is now surrounded by the family members she deeply missed, as well as many beloved family dogs who crossed the rainbow bridge before her- reunited in the love, and comfort that meant so much to her.

Her legacy of love, laughter, and boundless affection will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Patti’s family on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 11:00 a.m to 12:00 pm at Riley Mortuary, 110 Division St., Amsterdam, NY.
