Melissa Anne Davison
1962-2023
Melissa "Missy" Anne Davison sadly passed away on January 26, 2023 in Amsterdam, New York.
Melissa will be remembered as a loving and caring daughter, sister and aunt. She was a faithful and loyal friend throughout her life. Her smile and kindness will be remembered by all.
Missy was born October 31, 1962 to the late Lorna Maney Davison and Bernard G. Davison. She is survived by her sister Deborah D. Niezgoda and brother-in-law David W. Niezgoda of Amsterdam, New York. Her greatest joy were wonderful memories made with her niece Heather Jane Niezgoda Ranado (Michael) and her great nieces Marisa Jane and Mia Rose.
Missy spent her childhood years growing up on Henkes Drive, Colonie, New York. She had fond memories with her Henkes, Parry, Davison cousins, as well as neighbors who were like family. She had a special relationship with her grandparents Nana Jane and Papa Gerald Maney. Growing up there were fun times with her Uncle and Aunt and Maney cousins. She especially enjoyed her time relaxing at their home on Lake George.
She cherished her relationship with the Niezgoda family who treated her as a sister.
Missy attended Saint Agnes School, Loudonville, New York. In her teen years she moved to the Florida Keys with her mother and her late step-father Gordon Osborn. She experienced tropical life and graduated from Coral Gables High School in 1980. She enjoyed college life and became an avid FSU football fan. After college she moved to the Tampa, Florida area and had a lifelong career in the legal profession. Along with her late partner, Tony Pullara, Missy enjoyed boating and beach life with her many Florida friends. Missy treasured her friendships from childhood, high-school, college, co-workers and neighbors throughout her life. In 2012, she moved back to New York where she made new friendships and reconnected with cousins and friends. She loved her pets and enjoyed flower gardening and decorating.
Her life was surrounded with flower gardens created and enjoyed by her family. Her father was a known Florist and her wish would be for others to give a plant or flowers to family and friends as a gesture of love.
In her memory, please donate to your local American Heart Association.
Melissa will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Albany, New York. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
