Marilyn Ford, 88 formerly from Amsterdam passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026 at the Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility surrounded by her loving daughters.

Marilyn was born on April 15, 1937, to Edward Ford and Kathleen (Dolan) Ford. She was raised in Fort Johnson and graduated in 1955 from Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School in Amsterdam and was involved in Civil Air Patrol and the Hilltopper School Newspaper.

After graduation, Marilyn was employed by General Electric Company in Schenectady as a secretary with the Turbine Department. Her most notable job was being manager of MCT Federal Credit Union, originally know as the Teachers Credit Union which for many years she ran out of her home at 66 Glen Ave, Amsterdam.

Under Marilyn's leadership, the credit union grew and relocated to Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam and later to Market Street, Amsterdam. She retired from MCT Federal Credit Union in 1997.

Along with being employed full time at MCT, Marilyn attended Fulton Montgomery Community College at night and after 10 years received her associate's degree in accounting. Over the years she was very active in Business & Professional Women's Club, Credit Women, the New York State Credit Union League and the Mohawk Valley Independent Credit Union Association (MVI).

Marilyn met the love her of her life, Frank Morgenweck and later moved to Middleburgh to be with Frank.

Marilyn & Frank did a lot of traveling and visited many states. She was an avid reader, loved old movies, and was a lifetime NY Giants fan and later became a NY Mets fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending Tony’s sporting events. She was an avid animal lover and had many pets over the years.

Marilyn was pre-deceased by her brother, Edward Robert Ford and her sister, Patricia Krahmer.

Surviving Marilyn are Frank Morgenweck (her fiance), her daughters Linda Isabel (Gerard) and Erin Krajcir (Dave), grandchildren David Isabel and Anthony Isabel, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marilyn's funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at Riley Mortuary, 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, New York. with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. officiating. Visitation will precede the funeral service from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be private at St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
