Joyce Maroney

Joyce Marilyn Maroney, 85, formerly of Amsterdam, NY; and the state of Florida, passed away Thursday morning, October 19, 2017 at Fairport Baptist Homes in Fairport, NY.

Born on March 12, 1932 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mildred Bissnett Raine.

Joyce received her education in the Amsterdam school system and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She also attended Bryant & Stratton College, where she received her business degree.

Joyce retired from Hays & Wormuth Insurance Company in Amsterdam.

Joyce married John W. Maroney on October 10, 1953. He passed away on July 25, 1990. She is survived by four sons, Timothy Maroney (Clara) of New York City, Kevin Maroney (Jacqueline) of Rochester, NY; Brian Maroney (Jerri) of Harrisburg, PA; and Keith Maroney (Sandy) of Chicopee, MA; Ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a committal service at St. Mary’s Cemetery Chapel, Saturday October 21, 2017, at 1:30 p.m., where Joyce will be buried with her husband, John.
