Jeanne A. Iavarone

Jean Ann Hinman Iavarone, aged 87, passed away peacefully April 19, 2026. She was born on May 23, 1938, in Gloversville, New York, the daughter of John C. Hinman and Margaret Van Dusen Hinman.

Jean was a proud graduate of Gloversville High School, Class of 1957. On March 24, 1958, she married James Antimo Iavarone, beginning a devoted marriage that spanned 68 years and served as the foundation of a loving family.

Jean is survived by her husband, James Iavarone of Amsterdam, NY, and her four children: James Iavarone Jr. of Amsterdam, NY; Lisa Iavarone Dufresne (Timothy) of Town of Florida, Vincent Iavarone of Crystal Lake, IL and Michael Iavarone (Pascale) Schüpfheim, CH. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis Hinman (Joanne) of Gloversville, NY, grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Jean treasured being both a grandmother and great-grandmother, holding dear the memories she made with her nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Each of them filled her life with happiness and pride, and she is fondly remembered by all.

In keeping with Jean’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held followed by a graveside service at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Amsterdam, New York.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Deborah Kaiser, her devoted nurse, and to the compassionate staff at St. Mary’s Pulmonary Center for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Jean’s memory to the American Lung Association or the Montgomery County SPCA, 1232 NY-5S, Amsterdam, NY 12020

Jean will be remembered for her steadfast love of family, quiet strength, and the warmth shebrought to all who knew her.
