Jean Marie Riccio

Jean Marie Riccio, 96, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025.

Born in Yonkers, New York, on May 6, 1929, Jean was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Kenna) Fabozzi. She was raised in Amsterdam, New York, where she graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School.

Jean dedicated her career to civil service, retiring from the New Cumberland Army Depot.

In retirement, she found joy in golfing, working at the Embers Gift Shop, organizing trips for the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE), and traveling to explore new places.

On March 14, 1948, Jean married the love of her life, Robert Joseph Riccio, at St. Michael’s Church in Amsterdam, NY. They began their family in Amsterdam and later relocated to Shiremanstown, Pennsylvania, following the closure of the depot in New York.

Shiremanstown became a cherished home where they raised their children. During this time, Jean also taught ceramic classes from her home while continuing her work at the depot.

Jean is survived by her children, David (Kathy) Riccio and Linda Riccio; her grandchildren, Tyson (Lynn) Riccio and Amanda Riccio; and her great-grandchildren, Cainan, Madison, and Eli Riccio. She is also survived by her brother, Jack (Ann) Fabozzi, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert; her siblings Donald, Anthony, and Richard Fabozzi, Audrey Russo, and Peggy Mraz; and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Riccio-Severs.

Jean will be remembered for her deep love of family, her enduring spirit, and her fond memories of Amsterdam, NY, which she always considered “home.” She was a proud member of NARFE and a former member of the Susquehanna Ski Club.

Relatives and friends may visit with Jean’s family on Friday, November 24, 2025 between 11:00 a.m and 12:00 p.m. at Riley Mortuary, 110 Division St., Amsterdam.
