Edith M Innes

Edith M. Innes, 91, formerly of Roosevelt Apartments, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Friday afternoon, December 18, 2015 at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam.

Born on October 3, 1924, in Scranton, PA; she was the daughter of Edward and Edith Maude Sheerer.

Edith received her education in the Scranton school system and after her marriage became a homemaker.

Her husband Arthur Thomas Innes to whom she married February 10, 1948, passed away October 1, 2000.

Edith is survived by two sons, Thomas Innes of Clifton Park, NY; and Edward Innes (Denise) of the state of PA; four daughters, Barbara Daley of the state of Florida, Gail Abatecola of Amsterdam, NY; Debbie Fiorillo (Gary) of Amsterdam, NY and Robin Russell (Wayne) of Amsterdam. Two sisters, Bessie Collins and Mary Jane Dixion, eighteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren also survive. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY, 12010 with Pastor Bonnie Orth officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the Riley Mortuary on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 prior to the service.
