Diane M. Whitaker, passed away peacefully at her home in Hagaman, NY, on July 27, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on June 2, 1948, in Amsterdam, New York, Diane was a woman of many talents and deep affection, leaving behind a legacy of love and creativity.
Diane worked as a waitress and a retail clerk; however, she is most notably remembered as a dedicated homemaker. She poured her heart into creating a nurturing and warm environment for her family, embodying the spirit of devotion that defined her life.
Diane embraced her passions with enthusiasm. She was a talented crafter and quilter, often finding joy in the details of her creations and sharing them with those she loved. Her artistic spirit not only brought beauty to her surroundings but also fostered connections
Diane leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory. She is survived by her son, Gerald "Scott" Salisbury; her daughters, Noelle Rush and Jacquelyn Jesenski; her sisters Monica McFee Guynup and Beth Ostrander; and her cousin and best friend, Barbara McFee. Diane also leaves behind a treasured group of grandchildren, including Amanda Soto, Daniel Soto, Melinda Soto, Michael Rush, Steven Rush, Megan Rush, Eric Salisbury, Zach Salisbury, and Azreelle Villanueva, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom were blessed to have her in their lives.
Diane was preceded in death by her brother, Scott McFee.
As we remember Diane M. Whitaker, we celebrate a life enriched by family, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to those she cared for deeply. Her kindness and artistry will be fondly remembered, and her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
