William Bornt

William F. “Billy” Bornt, 64, of East Street, Galway, NY, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 21, 2016 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on May 18, 1952, he was the son of the late Floyd W. and Arlene Cooper Bornt.

Billy received his education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.

He was employed as a truck driver for Bornt Trucking in Amsterdam.

Billy is survived by his sister, Darlene Bornt of Kenner, LA; special friends Hillary Anthony Lewis and her son, Paul Lewis.

Billy was also predeceased by his grandparents, William D. Bornt and Ethyl Bryant Bornt who raised Billy and Darlene.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday evening from 6 to 7 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.

There are no prior calling hours.

Final inurnment will take place in the spring of 2017 at Hagaman Mills Cemetery, Hagaman, NY.
