Thomas Flint

Thomas R. “Flick” Flint, 51, of Romeyn Avenue, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Friday morning October 26, 2012 at home.

Born in Amsterdam, NY; on September 14, 1961, he is a son of Mary Flint and the late Robert J. Flint.

Flick received his education in the Amsterdam school system and graduated from Amsterdam High School. He also attended SUNY Potsdam.

Flick was last employed as Superintendant of Maintenance at the Theodore Roosevelt Apartments in Amsterdam.

Flick was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Amsterdam/. He was also a member of the Bigelow Weavers Club, many years as a player and referee of the Amsterdam Recreation Leagues, Flick was also Tournament Director of the Recorder – Robert J. Flint Memorial Softball Tournament for the last 15 years.

Flick is survived by his mother, Mary Flint of Amsterdam, his life partner, Laurie Glynn, one brother, Matthew Flint (Regina) of Amsterdam, five sisters, Linda Flint Lipper of North Plainfield, NJ, Kathleen Reilly (Tim) of Latham, NY, Sharon Murray (Jim) of Middletown, CT; Maria Kowalczyk and Nancy Pabis (Paul) of Amsterdam, his children, Natalie Flint, Shannon Steiger (Colt), Eric Glynn all of Amsterdam and Sarah Glynn of Selkirk, NY and one grandson, Cooper Steiger. Many nieces nephews and cousins also survive.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 11:00 at St. Mary’s Church 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam.

Cremation will follow at Parkview Crematory in Schenectady

Calling hours are Monday from 5 to 8 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.

In lieu of flowers, it was Tom’s request that memorial gifts in his name be made to the Natalie Flint College Scholarship Fund which can be mailed to any First Niagara Bank branch or to the funeral home.
