Sharon L Cornwell

Sharon L. Cherico Cornwell, 54, of Division Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Wednesday December 19, 2018 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam.

Born in Amsterdam on March 20, 1964, she was the daughter of Fredolyn W. Morin Cherico who survives and the late Frank J. Cherico.

Sharon received her education at St. Mary’s Institute and graduated from Amsterdam High School.

She was employed at Big Lots in Amsterdam until the onset of her illness.

Sharon was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Amsterdam.

Sharon is survived by her mother, two sons, Adam and Kyle Cornwell ,one granddaughter, Shelby Lynn, and Jaymes Weesner who was like another son to Sharon all of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Robert F. Cherico (Patricia) of Amsterdam, NY; two sisters Karen A. Ottati (Paul) of Hagaman, NY and Barbara A. Renda (Joe) of Fort Hunter, NY. Sharon had two nieces, Shannon L. Basile and Ashli K. Ottati, four nephews, James Leggiero, Robert Cherico, Shane Cherico and Paul (PJ) Ottati; along with several cousins, many wonderful friends which she cherished from both Ohio and New York, one Aunt, Kayleen Guadagno and one Uncle, Richard Morin.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:00 noon at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, followed at 12 :30, by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mary;s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY.

Calling hours are Friday morning from 10:00 to 12:00 prior to the funeral service at the Riley Mortuary.
