Scott Chambers

Scott W. Chambers, 51, of Tremont Avenue, Amsterdam, New York, passed away Friday morning December 17, 2010 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York after a brief illness.

Born in Amsterdam, New York on November 12, 1951, he was the son of the late William H. Chambers who passed away on January 24, 1988 and Anne Demars Chambers of Shawnee, Kansas.

Scott received his elementary education at St. Mary's Institute and graduated from Bishop Scully High School, Class of 1977.

Scott was employed by Church Street Service Center in Amsterdam and formerly at Anderson Instrument in Glen, New York.

Scott enjoyed NASCAR, his cats, socializing and smoozing with his many friends and golfing, especially with his godson and nephew.

Scott's personality was like no others, he was very good friends with everyone who touched his life.

Scott is survived by his wife, Connie Colvin Chambers at home, his mother, his sister, Debra Chambers Smith (Bruce), his nephew, Ryan Smith, his niece and goddaughter, Erin Smith all of Shawnee, Kansas, his godson David Hughes and dear friends Jane and Mike Hughes all of Amsterdam, three step children, three step grandchildren and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 10:15 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, New York followed at 11:00 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, New York.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery Fort Johnson, New York.

Calling hours are Sunday from 3 to 6 PM at the mortuary.
