Ralph L. Armer

Ralph L. Armer, 86, of Hartley Road, Amsterdam, NY, passed away Tuesday morning September 8, 2015 at Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Amsterdam, NY.

Born in Saratoga Springs, NY, on November 1, 1928, he was the son of the late Albert Leslie and Pearl Chase Armer.

Ralph was a graduate of Fultonville High School and was the owner and operator of his dairy farm in the Town of Florida.

Ralph was a member of Tribes Hill Presbyterian Church in Tribes Hill, NY; New York State Farm Bureau, Johnstown Moose Lodge # 1185 and the former Pomona Grange in the Town of Florida.

Ralph was also employed for Brown’s Transportation as a school bus driver, Greens Trucking and Buanno Transportation.

Ralph enjoyed all outside activities, his farm, gardening, bowling, his dog Buttons and his cat Bob.

Ralph’s wife Rita Duval Armer to whom he married June 28, 1974 passed away November 27, 2004.

Ralph is survived by two sons, William Armer (Jen) and Bruce Armer (Ruth), one daughter Janice Armer, two stepdaughters, Mary Maines (Bill) and Jeanne Henderson (Scott), eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Ralph was also predeceased by a sister, Lela Devendorf Spellman.

Funeral services will be held Thursday September 10, 2015 at 12:00 noon at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY.

Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill, NY.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10:30 to noon, prior to the service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Capstone and Community Hospice for the care they gave Ralph.
