Michael Garrison

Michael S. Garrison, 51, of Florida Ave., Amsterdam, NY; passed away Friday December 29, 2017 at Albany Medical Center.

Born in Amsterdam on October 11, 1966, he was the son of the late Raymond C. Garrison Sr., and Rosemary Persico Garrison who survives.

Mike received his education in the Amsterdam school system and graduated from Amsterdam High School.

Mike was last employed by the City of Amsterdam as foreman of the Water Department.

Mike was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed all sports especially when he attended his sons sporting events.

Mike is survived by his mother, two sons, Michael C. Garrison and Christopher R Garrison, one brother, Raymond C. Garrison Jr., all of Amsterdam. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, 2017 at 10:30 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY; followed at 11:15 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, with Rev. Jeffrey L’Arche, M.S. officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.

Calling hours are Wednesday January 3, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary.
