Mary Elizabeth “Pam” Bottisti, 91, of Howlan Street, Tribes Hill, NY; passed away Wednesday February 28, 2018 at Wilkinson Residential Health Care in Amsterdam, NY.
Born in Fonda, NY on June 17, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Healy Champagne.
Pam received her education in the Gloversville school system and graduated from Gloversville High School. She also graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing with a 3 year nursing diploma. It was at St. Mary’s School of Nursing where she received her nickname “Pam” from her classmates.
Pam retired as a Registered Nurse from St. Mary’s Hospital and later worked as a private duty nurse in the local area.
Pam was a parishioner and communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Tribes Hill, NY, where she was also a Eucharist Minister- Lector, a member of the Parish Council and the Rosary Altar Society. Pam was also known as the “Pie Lady“, when one year, she made over 100 pies for the spring fling at Sacred Heart Church. She was a local promoter for Franciscan Missions, member of the Pine Grove Cemetery Association and an elections inspector for the Town of Mohawk.
Pam was a veteran of the Cadet Nurse Corp during World War II.
Pam was married to Nicholas A. Bottisti on September 11, 1948. He passed away January 26, 2006. Pam is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Keenan and Julie Schmidtmann (Donald Jr.) both of Tribes Hill, NY; two sons, William Bottisti (Tammy )of Tribes Hill, NY; and Nicholas Bottisti (Kelly ) of Fort Johnson, NY; eleven grandchildren , sixteen great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Pam was also predeceased by six siblings, William and Francis Champagne, Vivian McClary, Margaret Rupert, Jean DesJardins and Eileen Nieuwboer.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Saturday March 10, 2018 at 9:30 at Sacred Heart Church, 111 Third Avenue, Tribes Hill, NY.
Interment will be held this spring at Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill, NY.
Calling hours are Friday March 9, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary.
Memorial gifts in Pam’s name may be made to the Tribes Hill Fire department, 280 Mohawk Drive or to Sacred Heart Church, Third Avenue, and both Tribes Hill, NY 12177.
