Marie Connolly

Marie H. Connolly, R.N., 87 of Stewart Street, Amsterdam, NY passed away Saturday evening November 1, 2014 at Wilkinson RHCF in Amsterdam.

Born in Schenectady NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Sophie Loehr Homic.

Marie received her education in the Schenectady school system and also graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing from which she received her R.N. Degree.

She was employed at St. Mary’s Hospital in the Maternity Ward until her retirement.

Marie was a parishioner and communicant of St. Mary’s Church and a member of St. Mary’s School of Nursing Alumni Association.

Her husband, Edward J. Connolly to whom she married October 28, 1950, passed away April 4, 2006.
Marie is survived by her son, Michael P. Connolly (Kathleen) of Poughkeepsie, NY, two daughters, Mary Theresa Tessier (Paul) of Cohoes, NY and Margaret A. Schuler (Christopher) of Fairport, NY. Seven grandchildren, Daniel P. and Eileen E. Connolly, Paul A., Jeffrey E., Kevin J., and Gregory F. Tessier and Jacob Schuler, two great grandchildren, Carsen Tessier and Kaitlyn Connolly. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Marie was also predeceased by her sister, Joan Sullivan.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:15 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY followed at 11:00 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam.

Interment will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary.
