Margaret M. Mc Ardle

Margaret M. Mc Ardle, 96, of Wallins Corners Road, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Friday October 9, 2020 at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam.

Born in Albany, New York on October 11, 1923, she was the daughter of John and Mary McNally Bacon.

Marge received her education in the Albany school system; she moved to Amsterdam in 1961. Marge was first employed at City Hospital, now St. Mary’s Healthcare as head of the Bookkeeping/Finance Department. She subsequently retired from the Amsterdam Business & Professional Exchange (24 hour answering service) from 1982 to 2016, where she was the owner and operator.

Marge was very instrumental, in the building and planning of the original Amsterdam Memorial Hospital in 1963
.
Marge was also Chairwoman of the Albany Tulip Festival for several years.

Marge was married to Peter F. Mc Ardle on November 22, 1943. Peter passed away on March 10, 1989. Marge is survived by one daughter, Carol Mc Ardle of Amsterdam, two sons, Peter Mc Ardle (Pam Bennett) of Malone, NY and Brian Mc Ardle (Cindy Abatisti) of Hagaman, NY; two sisters, Catherine Black of San Diego, CA; and Alice Jane Studler of Hudson Falls, NY; four grandchildren, Shaleigh, Brian, Shannon and Kevin, and seven great grandchildren, Isabella, Xander, Connor, Cora, Eloise, Gregory and Aurora.

Cremation was held at Park View Crematory in Schenectady, NY.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced. Final interment will be at Our Lady of Help Christian Cemetery, Glenmont, NY.
