Julianne Gumuka

Julianne Gumuka, 83, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2022 with her family by her side.

Julie is survived by her husband of 58 years Raymond “Jack” Gumuka, her children, John (Helen) Maloney, Kathleen (Blair) Hawley, Colleen (Gerald) Gallup, Andrea (John) Gurga, Raymond Gumuka and Karen Derby.

Julie is survived by 15 grand children and 9 great grandchildren. Sisters Jean Colistra, Rita McClary, Kathryn Andrews, sister-in-law Judith Chase. Julie was predeceased by her mother and father William and Mary Riley Dufresne, her brothers William, Paul, and David Dufresne.and her sisters, Mary Licciardi, Margaret Cosentino, and grandchild Evan Derby.

Julie retired from Pineview Commons adult home in Johnstown New York after 30 years of service. In 1994 Julie received the New York State administrator of the year award for excellence in service. Julie liked to spend time with her family, especially around the holidays. Julie will be missed by everyone, especially her grand-dog Buddy.

There will be no viewing hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the family at Saint Stanislaus Church on Thursday April 7th at 11am. With the Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis V.F. officiating.
