John L. Totzeck

John L. Totzeck, 84, of Amsterdam, NY and formerly of Port Charlotte, FL and Henderson, NV passed away February 19, 2023.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on August 16, 1934, he was the son of the late William and Anna Filbrook Totzeck.

John was employed by Pratt & Whitney as a Jet Aircraft Engine Engineer and subsequently as superintendent of Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam for many years.

John married Helen Brooks Totzeck, on October 8, 1955. Helen predeceased John on February 4, 2023.

John is survived by three sons, John M. Totzeck and William Thompson both of Amsterdam and Alan Totzeck of Greenville, NY; one daughter, Eileen Desgrosiellier (George) of Chippewa Bay, NY; several foster children, two grandchildren, John A. Totzeck (Danielle Whelly) and Elizabeth Taber (Daniel) all of Amsterdam, two brothers in law, Charles Brooks of Amsterdam and Michael Heise (Belinda) of Maui, HI; one sister in law, Gladys Totzeck of Ocean Springs, MS; three step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

John was also predeceased by a brother, Robert Totzeck and a sister, Ann Nabors.

John’s family would like to thank Karen Nabors for the kindness and compassionate care she provided for John.
