Howard Busseno

Howard E. Busseno, 84, of Kline Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Sunday June 19, 2016 at Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility in Amsterdam.

Born in South Glens Falls, NY; he was the son of the late Ernest and Gertrude Gatchell Busseno.

Howard received is education in the Glens Falls school system and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam, class of 1950.

Howard was an honorably discharged United States Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953.

He was employed as a manager- salesman at Miller’s Men’s Store in Amsterdam for many years until its closing.

Howard was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amsterdam and the James T. Bergen American Legion Post #39. He also enjoyed bowling in several leagues and played softball in his younger years with the Garden Street Gang.

Howard is survived by his wife, Anne Mackie Busseno, one son, William Busseno of Angola, NY, twin grandchildren, Madison and Eric Busseno and one sister Theresa Malley of Galway, NY. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Howard was also predeceased by two brothers, Warren and Edward Busseno.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam.

Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the Riley Mortuary.
