Gloria Mccune

Gloria M. McCune, 85, formerly of McClellan Avenue, Amsterdam, New York, passed away Monday afternoon October 7, 2013 at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam.

Born in Amsterdam, New York on January 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Anna Gaugler McCune.

She received her education and graduated from St. Mary’s Institute in Amsterdam.

She was employed and retired as manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Amsterdam.

Gloria was a communicant and parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Amsterdam.

Gloria is survived by one brother, Richard McCune (Marilyn) of Amsterdam, a sister-in - law, Madeline McCune of Amsterdam, one nephew, Robert F. McCune of Amsterdam, four nieces, Mary Pat Devine (Dan) of Latham, New York; Maureen Mickel (Kevin) of Niskayuna, New York; Diane Eberle (Chris) of Mayfield, New York; and Laurie Dockstader (Todd) of Amsterdam, New York, grand nieces, Anna, Staci and Shanon McCune, Chelsea and Meghan Mickel, grand nephews, Brandon and Matthew Colson, Jake and Nicholas Dockstader. Several cousins also survive.

Gloria was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas R. McCune on July 14, 2007 and John R. “Rocky” McCune on July 16, 2013.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 10:30 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, New York, followed at 11:00 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Fort Johnson, New York.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the service at the Riley Mortuary.
