Geraldine F. Collister, 75, of Union Street, Amsterdam, NY passed away Thursday October 15, 2015 at home.

Born in Mount Vernon, NY on April 4, 1940, she was the daughter of John and Pearl Paulino Guarino.

Geraldine received her education in the New Rochelle school system.

Geraldine was employed for many years as a cashier at Wal-Mart. She loved her job, her coworkers and her customers. And will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Her husband, Henry L. Collister Jr. to whom she married December 2, 1960, passed away April 29, 2011.

Geraldine is survived by two sons, Henry L. Collister III and his fiancé, Lynn Jones of Amsterdam, and Steven John Collister and his wife Michelle of West Palm Beach, FL; two daughters, Lorraine Freeman of Port Charlotte, Fl., and Diane Collister Temchuk (Bruce) of Miami, Fl; one brother, John Guarino and his wife, Pat, three sisters, Claire Miller, Barbara Smith and her husband,Tom and Mae Guarino, four grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Cremation was held at Park View Crematorium.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.

Inurment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Amsterdam.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial gifts in Geraldine’s name may be made to Montgomery County Office for Aging, 135 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
