Geraldine A Dunn

Geraldine A. Dunn, 81, of Hollywood Road, Amsterdam, NY, passed away at home Sunday morning, May 27, 2018 with her family by her side.

Born in Amsterdam, NY, on June 28, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Pauline Rusnica Kluska.

Geraldine received her education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.

She retired from the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance in Albany, NY.
Geraldine was a former parishioner and communicant of St. Stanislaus Church.

She enjoyed going to camp and boating on the Great Sacandaga Lake and also spending time with her friends at St. Mikes. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching football, especially cheering for the Jets. Geraldine was also a former member of several bowling leagues in Amsterdam.

Geraldine is survived by her fiancé and companion of 42 years Bill Kiuber, two daughters, Debra Miller (Doug) and Lorraine Scheckton (Jim), one grandson, Michael R. Hanrahan, two great grandchildren, Giuseppi and Brooklyn Hanrahan all of Amsterdam, NY.

Her mother, Pauline, father, Bernard and sister, Charlotte Skiba all predeceased her.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday May 31, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY, where a memorial prayer service will immediately follow.
Cremation was held at Park View Crematory in Schenectady, NY.

Memorial gifts in Geraldine’s name may be made to Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny Corners Road or to Montgomery County SPCA, SPCA Road, P.O. Box 484 and both Amsterdam, NY 12010.

The family would like to thank Hilda, Pam and Pat for all their help during the last couple of months. Also special thanks to Chrissy for her companionship and help the last few weeks. Without the four of you, we would not have been able to honor Gerry’s wish to be in the comfort of her home.
