Gail K. Abatecola

Gail K. Abatecola, 73, of Hayes Place, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, NY.

Born on Long Island, NY May 26, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Arthur T. and Edith Sheerer Innes. Gail was last employed as a taxi cab dispatcher in Amsterdam, until the onset of her illness.

She enjoyed bingo, shopping, walking and especially this last summer, spending time with her children and grandchildren on the Great Sacandaga Lake.

Gail is survived by her son, Michael Abatecola (Rachel) of Amsterdam, NY; one daughter April Montenaro (David), seven grandchildren, Kaitlynn Pucci (Dom), Megan Smith (Luis Laboy), Makenzie Smith, Michael Abatecola, Anthony Abatecola, Natalie Rose, and Jake Rose, five great grandchildren, Imani, Ian, and L.J Laboy, Donavyn Pucci, Anthony Abatecola, three sisters Barbara Daley, Debbie Fiorillo, and Robin Russell.

Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Gail was predeceased by a grandson, Jonathan Abatecola and a brother Thomas Innes.

Cremation was held at Park View Crematory in Schenectady.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.

A funeral service, with Rev. R.W. Williams, Mountain Valley Hospice Chaplain will be held at 8:00 p.m.
