Eizabeth H. Sardonia

Elizabeth H. “Betty” Sardonia, 107, formerly of Dewitt Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Friday November 26, 2021 at Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility in Amsterdam.

Born in S. Poultney, Vermont February 26, 1914, she was the daughter of Gerardo and Angelina Monoco Sardonia.

Betty received her education in the Amsterdam school system. She retired from Chalmers Knitting Company of Amsterdam.

Betty was a parishioner and communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam.

Betty is survived by one sister-in-law, Sophie Sardonia of Amsterdam. Nieces, nephews and several great nieces and great nephews also survive.

She was also predeceased by four brothers, and five sisters.

There are no calling hours.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Wednesday morning December 1, 2021 at 11:00 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, with Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis officiating.

Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY.
