Colleen Baker

Colleen Corridon Baker, 67, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Colleen was born in Amsterdam, NY on November 30, 1956 to the late Gerald Corridon and Eleanor O’Day Saltsman

Colleen graduated from Bishop Scully High School in 1974 and went on to Fulton-Montgomery Community College, graduating as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

A devoted home health care nurse driven by her faith, Colleen became recognized for the competent and compassionate care she provided others..

Colleen was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Amsterdam.

On December 24, 1989 she was united in marriage to Richard F. Baker. Sadly, Rich died January 31, 2003. Collen is also preceded in death by her sister Barbara in 1989.

Colleen is survived by her loving daughter Carly Baker (Joe Newborn), sisters; Lori Rambler, Lisa Sharpe, Carrie Hazzard and Sara Saltsman, grandchildren; Josiah, Elijah and Kaylee Newborn, great great granddaughter, Elilah Newborn and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.

There are no calling hours.

Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
