Carmela M. Healey

Carmela M. “Millie” Healey, 91, of Southport, NC; passed away May 22, 2023 at Hospice House of Brunswick, Bolivia, NC.

Born in Amsterdam, NY; she was the daughter of Anthony and Constance Cassell Nardick.

Millie received her education and graduated from Fonda High School in 1949 and Amsterdam Business School in 1950.

Millie was the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of Fonda-Fultonville School for 42 years.

She was a parishioner and communicant of St. Cecilia Church in Fonda until 2015 and subsequently Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport, NC.

Millie was united in marriage to Wells Healey on October 18, 1952, Wells predeceased her on February 15, 1992.

Millie is survived by her sister, Ann Sherman, formerly of Amsterdam and now of Lewes, Delaware, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Millie was also predeceased by two sisters, Philomena (Fanny) Mosher and Elizabeth Rizzio.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Thursday morning, June 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 26 Broadway, Fonda, NY 12068.

Interment will follow at St. Cecilia Cemetery Fonda, NY.
