Brian Monroe

Brian C. Monroe 72, of Chapman Drive, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Thursday afternoon, October 5, 2017 at Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Amsterdam, NY.

Born in Oneida, NY on February 22, 1945, he was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth “Betty” Doty Monroe.

Brian received his education and graduated from Shaker High School in Latham, NY. He also received a Bachelor’s Degree in social work from SUNY New Paltz.

Brian retired as a social worker from Albany County Department of Social Services.

Brian is survived by one brother, Robert Monroe (Joan) of Latham, NY; one sister, Joan Reich (Scott) of Clifton Park, NY; one niece, three nephews, cousins and friends. He was also predeceased by his sister, Katherine Shultz.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering, which will be held Saturday October 14, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
