Audrey M. Russo

Audrey Marjorie Russo, 92 of Amsterdam, NY; passed away peacefully November 17, 2022 with her family by her side.

Born on October 10, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen Kenna Fabozzi.

Audrey received her education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch senior High School, Class of 1948

She retired from the New York State Department of Taxation & Finance in Albany, NY. She also enjoyed working at the Muni Clubhouse and Saratoga Racetrack.

In 1952, she married Patsy G. Russo. That union was blessed until his passing in 2010. After retirement, they enjoyed spending winters in Florida with their daughter, Kim.

Audrey loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her daily phone calls with her sister-in-law, Lucy, playing bingo, cards with her friends, shopping trips, a good sangria and never missed a party.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (Douglas) Scott, Mark (Lisa) Russo, James (Susan) Russo, Kim Russo and Michael Russo; Twelve grandchildren, Jimmy Jr. Jason (Jill), Patrick, Jenna, Sarah (Mike), Kyle (Kiersten), Michael, Evan (Victoria), Amanda (Brennan), Christine, Erica and Matthew Stephani), seven great grandchildren, Jack, Angelo, Alyvia, Auggie, Edgar, Lilah and Eleanor and her grand dog, “Fitch”, brother, Jack (Ann) Fabozzi, sister, Jean Riccio Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

Audrey was also predeceased by her siblings, Donald, Anthony and Richard Fabozzi and Peggy Mraz.

Audrey was able to stay in her home for many years thanks to the loving care of her grandson, Jimmy Russo Jr. The family would also like to thank her home care aids, Lenore, Mary Ellen, Hilda, Colleen, Savannah and Braelin, Community Hospice and the third floor staff at the Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility for their compassionate care.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to the family Tuesday morning November 22, 2022 at St. Stanislaus Church, 50 Cornell Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 11:00 with the Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Amsterdam.
