Arlene Ryba

Arlene Ryba, 68, of State Highway 30 Amsterdam, NY; passed away Friday afternoon March 30, 2012 at Albany Medical Center.

Born in Amsterdam, NY; on July 14, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy E Quant Ryba.

Arlene received her education in the Amsterdam school system

Arlene loved horses and for many years worked as a handler and trainer of thoroughbreds at Sanford Stud Farm in Amsterdam. She also worked at many bars, restaurants and clubs including The Barge, The Village Tavern, Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course, Kiddo’s Tavern, Bigelow Weavers and the Irish American Club. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by one brother, Thomas Ryba of Stafford Springs, CT; and one sister, Joan G. Hage of Amsterdam. Nephews, cousins and many special friends also survive Arlene.

A memorial service will be held at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, on Saturday April 21, 2012 at 12 o’clock noon.

A calling hour will be held one hour prior to the service from 11:00 to 12:00

Cremation took place at Parkview Crematory in Schenectady
