Ann N Scheckton

Ann N. “Dolly” Scheckton, 88, of Center Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Thursday morning, August 25, 2022 at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Center in Amsterdam.

Born in Amsterdam on December 10, 1933, she was the daughter of Anna Crady Nasso.

Dolly received her education in the Amsterdam school system and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Class of 1951.

She was employed as secretary for Amsterdam Printing & Litho Co., from where she retired in 1980.

Dolly was a parishioner and communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam. She and her husband also loved to travel.

Dolly is survived by her husband, John T “Jack” Scheckton whom she married April 24, 1955. Also surviving are brothers in law, Frank, George and Robert Scheckton and Anthony and Jonathan Greco, who she considered to be her grandsons.Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Dolly was also predeceased by her sister, Sophie L. Battaglia.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Saturday September 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 with the Very Re. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. officiating.

Visitation at the church will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the mass.

Interment will take place at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Dolly’s husband and extended family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Wilkinson RHCF for the compassion and care they showed toward Dolly.
