Alta Jane Lysohir

Alta Jane Lysohir, 99 of Amsterdam, NY; passed away Saturday afternoon, February 16, 2019 at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam.

Born in Amsterdam, NY; on August 23, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William and Lavina Benjamin Conrad.

Jane received her education and graduated from St Mary’s Institute in Amsterdam. She also attended Mildred Elley School in Albany, NY.

She was a former bookkeeper for Marsh & Hallman auto dealership in Albany, NY.

Jane was a parishioner and communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Amsterdam.

Jane was married to Alexander Lysohir on June 26, 1948. Alex passed away June 18, 2005.

She is survived by one son, John Lysohir of Amsterdam, NY.

Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive.

Jane was also predeceased by two brothers and six sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Tuesday February 19, 2019 at 11:15 at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, with Rev. Jeffrey L’Arche, M.S. officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.

There are no calling hours.
